Fish Fry with Frog Legs
An old fashioned fish fry, complete with frog legs, was held at the AM VETS building located at 3409 England Drive in Alexandria on July 31, 2008.
Though it was Jimmy Chevalier's first official fundraiser for his city marshal campaign, the turnout of longtime friends and extended family membersproved that it was not his first rodeo. Not even the high heat index could keep the voters from wishing Jimmy well as they devoured a traditional southern fish fry meal consisting of cornmeal-rolled catfish filets, steamed frog legs, homemade hush puppies, french fries, pickles, raw onions, and what some called, "the best cole slaw we have ever eaten."
The event lasted from five until eight p.m. and tables stayed full. Ticket sales were brisk. Jimmy and wife Liz thanked his supporters individually for their attendance and continuing loyalty.

The event was catered by Along Came Becki which is owned by Becki Martin. Becki can provide

Campaign Breakfast
A campaign breakfast was held on Saturday, July 26th, hosted by candidate Chevalier's mother, Vertis Chevalier. The 10:00 a.m. coffee call featured homemade hashbrown casserole, Shipley Do-nuts, and scratch biscuits. Mrs. Chevalier welcomed many senior citizens and entertained guests with recollections from her days as a semi-pro softball player. Jimmy was very happy to meet so many of his mother's neighbors and friends.
